kate - dakota

“I struggled to write this review because it is hard to truly encapsulate how thankful I am for Kindness in Motion. My rescue dog Dakota came to me with a healthy fear of vets coupled with a known fear-aggression. She is truly the sweetest girl, but every vet appointment previously required a muzzle, multiple pills to sedate and relieve her anxiety and A LOT of manhandling. There wasn't a vet appointment that she didn't wet herself in fear, and once she had bruises that showed up all over her pink belly because the vets had to use so much force to try and give her necessary care. I had actually resigned myself to not taking her to the vet ever again, and simply doing whatever I could for her over-the-counter because each appointment seemed to be shaving time off her life, they were so stressful. Visits with Dr. Wood and Desiree couldn't be a greater juxtaposition. It took a couple visits, but now Dakota GREETS them at the door when they arrive, takes her shots while she munches on delicious treats and actually trusts Dr. Wood. Dr. Wood and Desiree are extremely attentive to Dakota's non-verbal cues and have an excellent sense of when to back off and when to push her to gain further trust from her. I cannot speak highly enough of these two women, and wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.“

“Our Boxer Zoe never had a fun time going to the vet, which was manageable until she started to get a bit older and have serious issues during the Pandemic. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision to help her along to the big dog park in the sky. As heartbreaking as that was, Kindness in Motion was able to work with us to plan and deliver a peaceful exit for our girl, right in her favorite spot at home. We just couldn't bear for her last moments to be full of stress and anxiety around being at the vet. It was one of the hardest things we've ever done, but Kindness in Motion was able to make it just a little easier and helped give us the confidence we were doing right by Zoe.”

“Finding Kindness in Motion was absolutely one of the biggest blessings to come to our family last year during the pandemic. We had a senior dog who was rapidly declining and we knew she was going to need multiple vet visits. The idea of sending our incredibly anxious senior furbaby into the vet alone was something we were absolutely dreading.

Then we heard about Kindness in Motion. Dr. Wood and Dessiree changed how we will view vet care forever. They came to us and made our anxious and hurting girl feel happy and at ease. They had multiple visits with her and she was happy to see them each time. They found the best plan possible to let her ride out her final few months with as much happiness and as little discomfort as possible. Then when we knew it was time, they came for an end of life appointment. They made one of the most difficult experiences more bearable. They were so incredibly kind and patient and we are forever thankful to have found them. We still use them regularly for our other dogs and will be customers as long as they are around. They have completely changed our lives in terms of pet parenting and we love getting to work with them.”

… “Kindness in Motion, offers emotional support, hospice care and counseling if needed. A nice pamphlet of grief support is given. As we know, our pets are our family, we need our hearts healed at this time. They emailed back later again and asked if I needed support. There was less stress on the cat and less stress on me. I would highly recommend Kindness in Motion.”

“I moved to Arkansas from California recently. I was delighted to find Kindness in Motion would come to my house! Dr. Wood and her lovely assistant Desiree have helped our 3 older dogs tremendously. All of them arrived with medical problems that the previous vets weren't able to properly tend to. They are so patient and sweet with the animals, it's obvious they truly care. Each time they arrive, our dogs are excited to see them, a testament in itself. They are all feeling and looking much better, and we are so grateful!”

“When our cat Midge got sick, you were there. Our 2 cats have always been indoors and were very much afraid of strangers. We asked you to park in our driveway, call and tell us you were there, and NOT ring the doorbell or the two cats would scatter. You were gentle, loving and helpful. After several weeks we had to reach a decision. She was suffering and we didn’t want her to experience long and drawn out pain, so we made the decision to euthanize. We are so thankful for your time and expertise. We highly recommend you.”
